The School Day

School Opening Times

It is very important that children are in school for registration at 8.55am. Pupils may come straight into school from 8.45 am, when the side door will be open, and a member of staff available on the door.

In the unlikely event that you arrive late for school (after 8.55 am) please enter the school through the front door. It is essential that you inform the school office that your child has arrived. You will be asked for a reason for being late and then entered into the late book. For Health and Safety reasons it is essential that you follow these procedures.

School finishes at 3.10pm.

The school will keep a record of incidents where parents/carers do not collect a child from school, are late in doing so for no acceptable reason, or where there is a repeat occurrence. Any child welfare concerns arising out of such incidents will be dealt with in accordance with the school’s child protection procedures.

Drop Off and Collection

At the end of the school day, parents are encouraged into the playground. This helps to build up a close relationship between home and school – we want to have good links with all parents. If normal arrangements have to be altered (eg you are delayed or another person is collecting your child) please let us know. This avoids any confusion or upset.

Children have split morning breaks, either 10.15am – 10.30am (Reception and KS1) or 10.45am – 11.00am (KS2).

Breaks in the afternoon are at the teachers discretion.

Pupils attend assembly every day from 10.30am to 10.45am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Class assemblies takes place on Wednesdays at a time of the class teacher’s choosing.

Children in Classes 1 and 2 go for lunch first at 11.55am and are supervised by their class teachers. The remaining children then go for lunch staggered in their year group. Lunchtime for all children ends at 12.55pm.
