Healthy, hot meals are served daily.
Pupils in Reception, Y1 and Y2 are eligible for Universal Free School meals.
All lunch money (for pupils in Y3-6) should be brought on a Monday morning. Cash (exact amount please sent in a clearly labelled envelope) or a cheque made payable to Leicestershire County Council may be sent to cover the cost of the school lunches. Payment can be made by cheque for a full term’s lunches in advance.
Parents who feel that they may be eligible for free meals through the Pupil Premium Scheme are actively encouraged to contact the school secretary for information. All enquiries are dealt with in the strictest confidence.
Alternatively, your child may bring his/her own packed lunch in a plastic container. For those who do bring a packed lunch, water is provided, but you may wish to include a non-fizzy cold drink for your child in a suitable unbreakable container. We request that parents provide healthy lunch boxes for children and do not send sweets or chocolate bars.
Dove Bank is a nut free zone; please do not send peanut butter sandwiches or any nut products into school.
As many children bring similar boxes, please ensure that your child’s full name is displayed on the outside.
Snacks and Sweets
Children may bring a healthy, mid-morning snack (such as a piece of fruit or a cereal bar). We especially encourage children to eat fruit on ‘Fruity Fridays’ and ‘Tutti Fruity Tuesdays’!
If children wish to celebrate a birthday or other event with their class mates, children may bring a cake or wrapped sweets to be shared among their classmates, although we would request that where possible, an alternative is sought e.g. stickers. Food items such as the above must be taken home rather than eaten at school so that parents can give consent.
Water is provided throughout the day in class, as well as at lunch-time.
