School Council

Election News …

dscf0758Congratulation to Grace in Y6, who has been elected by pupils to undertake the role of School Council President for this year. She will be very well supported by Charlotte and Kacey who were elected as Vice-Presidents. No doubt the girls will run School Council very competently and come up with some great ideas for fundraising and further school improvement.

All in-class elections have been completed, and each class now has at least two school council representatives.

School Council News 2016/17

Ideas and suggestions from class councils are brought to full school councils meetings each half term, enabling pupil views, on a wide range of matters, to be taken into consideration.

As your School Council, we promise to:

  • Listen to your ideas, concerns and worries.
  • Always wear our badges so you can find us if you ever need us.
  • Attend our weekly meetings to ensure we are always working on the projects you want.
  • Work with Mrs Heath, Mrs Shields and the governors to make sure your ideas are heard and actioned.

Fundraising Activities

dscf0660Our first fundraising activity has been hosting the Macmillan Coffee Morning. Grace, Kacey and Charlotte did an excellent job.

Thanks to their very persuasive sales techniques, we were able to raise £108.41 for this wonderful charity.

………………………

It was a fun ’dress in spots or stripes’ day at Dove Bank, with staff and pupils raising money for Children in Need in style! All in all, it was a wonderful day of fund-raising, with a total of £136.50 generated.

Well done to our Pudsey colouring competition winners, who received prizes, as well as to Mia who won ‘Name the Bear’. Thanks to Grace, Kacey and   Charlotte from School Council for organising these events.

Our ‘Christmas Jumper Day’ proved to be very popular again this year. Thanks to all those pupils who donated money to ‘Save the Children’. Thanks also to Charlotte who raised £30 for Shelter by organising a fashion show.

Latest Projects …

The tuck-shop is being run brilliantly by Grace, Charlotte and Kacey. We’re even beginning to see a little profit now!

Mrs Heath has used some of the funds raised so far this year to purchase lots of board games for wet play and Golden Time.

We are very proud of our School Council. They are wonderful ambassadors for our school!
